Satoshi Hirose

Satoshi Hirose, born in Tokyo in 1963, is a Japanese artist whose practice encompasses installation, environmental interventions, performance, sculpture, photography and drawing. His work addresses the purity and essentiality of everyday life. In 1989, Hirose graduated from Tama Art University. In 1991, he received an Italian government scholarship and moved to Italy to study at Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. In 2008, he worked in New York as a trainee in the overseas program of the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan, and in 2012, he attended a residency at VSC in the U.S. with a fellowship from the United States and Japan Foundation. Hiroshi is currently working in Milan and Tokyo.
